As one of the main partners of large European companies for IT and Advanced Technology projects, we can offer our consultants an array of opportunities across industries and borders, giving them the chance to contribute to the most challenging and demanding technical projects.   Because we know that our consultants are our most valuable asset, we commit ourselves to finding the best way for them to acquire skills and broaden their knowledge.

The projects at ALTEN are short to medium term (1 -2 years on average). This means your project manager might change when you finish one project and move to the next. To offer consistency in the way your career is managed, every consultant has a permanent career manager. Together with him or her you will define your career wishes and goals, and the way to reach them. This will happen through regular project reviews at our client’s premises as well as personal development follow-ups.

To support our consultants in their personal development, we also have an internal department called ALTEN Management Services (AMS). Their aim is to help newcomers integrate in the company by providing functional or technical training, coaching and workshops and by organizing company and team events.

There are 3 main directions for your  career evolution:

	Technical Expertise You already have considerable knowledge in technical development and you want to improve your skills in a specific technology or industry. You want to bring more added value to our clients by getting  more involved in architecture, requirement analysis, …. You could also be in charge of technical training sessions for other ALTEN Belgium consultants.
	Project Management You want to have more functional responsibilities and to manage a project on all levels: resource allocation, planning, costs, negotiation with suppliers, deadlines….You could also manage a team of people at the client or a team of consultants on an internal project.
	Business Management You would like to be more involved in business management by setting up your own business unit and managing it on a financialsight. You are result-oriented and eager to increase ALTEN Belgium’s market share by developing long-term partnerships with our customers. You will be recruiting  and managing your own team of consultants.

Geographic mobility and client proximity
ALTEN encourages consultants' mobility within the group. A department has been set up to deal with relocation inquiries. At the moment, about 250 people shift agencies every year over the entire ALTEN group. To read more on the ALTEN group and the different subsidiaries, follow this (LINK).
