An important trend in the Telecom & Media market is ‘convergence’. This can be seen on different levels:

Device convergence: combining different services in one multi-service terminal (smartphones, PCs used to browse internet, watch TV or conf call).

Network convergence: merging telephony, datacom and broadcast networks in the way they transport and handle various types of communication traffic. The best examples are convergence between the world of Internet and the telecom sector and between the land line and mobile segments in the telecom industry.

Service and Media Convergence: making content available from different access points, independent of underlying technology, device or operator (examples are geo-localization and augmented reality).
