Context
The client requested a Smart Client application to manage the data concerning all conductors’ and drivers’ work tasks. This data is used for financial issues (such as calculating drivers’ pay) and for the maintenance of train engines. The new application was intended to replace a previous mainframe application while adding new business functionalities.
The application had to meet several requirements:
High encoding speed.
Ability to work online and offline.
Go live before the SAP Mind3 project since it feeds this application with data.
