For a customer in the consumer electronics sector, ALTEN was involved in the testing & validation of a high-end television set. With the ongoing evolution in television technology and the increase in the number of features, the customer requires a flexible, qualified workforce with an understanding of both the end-user and the technical domains involved.
ALTEN's achievements
Within the validation team, ALTEN consultants are part of 3 pillars.
In the broadcast pillar, 3 ALTEN engineers are part of a 7 person team tasked with verifying the compliance with requirements, standards and certifications related to the reception and decoding of digital and analogue TV channels.
The Mediation & Billing team implements tactical solutions and gives support regarding the billing system. Moreover, the team maintains the judicial reporting system. Requirements mostly come from functional experts.
In the features pillar, 2 ALTEN engineers are part of a 6 person team assigned with verifying the correct implementation of requirements related to audio/video rendering, the user interface, system performance, usability, interoperability with other CE devices and adherence to industry standards such as HDMI-CEC.
In the media pillar, 1 ALTEN engineer, part of a 3 person team in charge of verifying multimedia browsing and playback, codec support across a wide range of interfaces and networks (USB, DLNA, Internet,…), support for wired and wireless technology, rich Internet-based features (e.g. YouTube), as well as compliance with industry standards such as DLNA 1.5 and WIFI.
