Coordination of aero condenser projects and sizing of equipment

Activity and interventions

  • Project coordination
  • Process sizing
  • Thermal, electrical and civil engineering

Technical environment

  • Datasheet
  • Design note
  • Client specification

Key figures

  • 50 project members
  • 2 ALTEN consultants
  • Project duration: 18 months

Context

Air condensers are big steel structures with ventilators used to condense turbine steam into water. They are typically included in biomass and combined cycle power plants.

ALTEN was involved in the coordination of the on-site design of air condensers, as well as the process sizing.

The first objective of the ALTEN consultants was to coordinate members of the engineering office (about 50 people) during the design of the condensers. The second objective was to size the process equipment.
