VIE@ALTEN – Alexandre Guille
What is your professional background?
I am a young professional with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology Management, focusing on monitoring and development. I completed my studies in Tours. I came to Belgium to do my V.I.E (Volunteering for International Experience) at ALTEN as my first job after obtaining my degree.
What are the benefits of the VIE contract? What were your expectations?
My V.I.E contract is a first step into working life, offering a certain level of economic flexibility and greater freedom than a first permanent contract, while also allowing for skill development that will be valuable for future contracts. It also allows me to discover a new work environment and a host country with enriching customs and traditions.
How was your first contact with ALTEN?
The recruitment process was very smooth and well-followed, thanks to the manager in charge of my profile. I went through several interviews to assess my abilities and discuss the opportunities available. The manager continued to advocate for my application while providing me with helpful advice.
Do you have any future opportunities?
Regarding the next steps in my professional project, I plan to continue working as a consultant to further develop my skills, or to use the experience I have gained to take on an internal position in a Life Science company focused on pharmaceuticals.
What is your current mission at ALTEN?
I am currently working on a Deviation platform. I am part of the PVP/QC/MSA Deviation Coordinators team, where I am responsible for investigating, coordinating, and drafting deviations in vaccine production.
Why did you choose Belgium?
Belgium is a French-speaking country that I knew little about before coming here. For me, it was a first step abroad in a country that is already open to the world and brings together many different profiles in its capital.
